For hardening, once its a good "cherry red" uniformly and lost its magnetic properties continue heating for 10m -20 seconds to replace any heat lost whilst checking colour/magnetism and quench immediately !

For tempering I'd recommend 60 - 90 mins, I stick with 90 and allow to cool to room temp then repeat twice!
Probably overkill and many makers only HT for one cycle but this seems to work for me so I'll stick with it!
