Default San Ren Mu on Road Wars

I just saw a SRM 710 like the ones ZDP189 was doing group buys on over on BB a while back. The cops found it in he footwell of the car of a fellah who had dropped a load of drugs down his neck and who had a wanted person in the passenger seat. No drugs were found, but paraphernalia was so there was no evidence to charge the fellah, but he was arrested for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

Now, all charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence. He didn't have a valid excuse to have the knife in his car at three in the morning, so how did he get let off? Darren Day just got into trouble for having a bit of plastic on his key ring, yet this obvious no hoper has a locking knife and no excuse and get let off. Was he charged under the wrong section, off. weapon, or what?

I cannot understand how there wasn't enough evidence, the film crew filmed the coper retrieving it from the car!

It certainly looked like it for the few seconds I saw it, but regardless it was a lock knife. How did he get away with it?
