I'm tempted to remove the guard, remove the coating and give it a really tall (14-15mm) Scandi grind and maybe some crazy spalted beech stabilised scales with copper loveless bolts and lanyard tube.....

Probably soundsrevolting to most people but it works in my head......

I know mate but once I've started modding there's no going back and I'm not sure of the exact value of this in its original condition, I've been offered 50 for it by a collector who tried to tell me it was a common model and readily available but was advised by another collector not to accept anything less than double that as an absolute minimum and then only if I was really skint!

Aaaaah...decisions!

They're worth at least 3 figures Gaz. IF you plan on selling i wouldn't put it up for anything less than 180 as a starting price.
However, modding it will look the dogs b*ll*cks and be yours to hand down

Do't modify it, get a cheaper MOD knife and do as you please! I had the opportunity to have an Type D and didn't take it, it was being used to open packing crates in Hohne Garrison. It was pretty beat up, the guy ad been issued it twenty years previously! Yeah, keep it as is and buy a MOD crowbar to mod.
