Be careful, you'll turn up like Addo who waxes just about everything! We have to keep him from going too close to the fire or he'll go up like a good 'un!

For those that are/were wondering, the blokey has got back to me with postage costs for the army tents.
It's 15.90 euros which is 14:40. He still has a load up.

Very quick update.

Just been in the back garden to give the internal tripod method a go. No happy snaps I'm affraid but this is well simples.

3 extending clothes line poles from Wilkinson (Wilkos) 2.99 each

Measure against the side of the tent and adjust all three.

Using the hooks already there; use a decent sized cable tie and tie them together.

Roughly set up the tripod. Tent straight over the top.

Sort out the apex. Peg out and adjust as necessary.

Job done

Happy days

Just thinking aloud , I have'nt got one of these yet so will rely on you guys.

As the Tents are dirt cheap i was wondering if it would be possibly to modify one so that you could create a bigger tent by creating an additional 'skirt' from the fabric of another set.

This would then allow you to have the standard set ( unmodified ) for sleeping 1/2 people and with the additional mod - skirt create a larger tent by 'buttoning' onto the bottom an additional length of fabric and raising the internal pole or pyramid to allow for 3/4 people to sleep and a internal stove.

Thoughts on this??

The additonal skirt would be buttoned under the 1st skirt so water would run straight off.

TeeDee, you could do easily enough, add a skirt to the bottom. you'd need another one to get the material or find some thick, heavy cotton to do it.
You would then need your own poles, as the poles that come with it would be too short.
My mod-to-yet-be-made is the addition of a button on ground sheet that sits inside the edge.
