Default Scani-ish

This one was ordered as a birthday gift so I made it a little more distinctive than my usual knives of this type.

The blade is 3 inches (76mm) from handle to tip, it has a bit of a swedge thing going on and a finger ramp rather than a thumb ramp. The knife is for rabbiting and I always find skinning and delicate work a little easier if I can have a finger near the end of the blade. The overall length is 71/4 inches (185mm) with a handle of cross cut Oak and brass spacers with fibre spacers of red, white and blue then black, white and black.

The sheath is an ambidextrous cross draw sheath made from 3mm thick leather in Tan. The blade is made from my usual 3mm GFS.

I love this old Oak for handles and it has turned out quite well.

Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Very nice! I like the finger ramp idea. Never seen that before.

Mmm, yes very nice indeed, lovely bit of wood, the thumb ramp looks well thought out too.

Very nice work, The cross cut oak looks nice and the simple pin works well too.
