Default Achieving That Damn Elusive Handle Symmetry?

Right guys, what's your method?

I've been shaping a handle today on a fixed blade I'm making and that damn elusive symmetry is testing me. I marked out my lines right around the sides, filed down to the profile I wanted then used the shoe-shine sandpaper method to even out and finish the curves. I'm now chasing the high spots to try to achieve symmetry. I feel like I'm chasing rainbows on this one! This is far from my first build and I know I will get there, but I think there must be a better way.

I'm always looking to improve so any hints or tips would be graciously received!

Thanks Guys! Normally I don't have much of a problem with handle shaping, but this one is not playing the game. I shape my handles by eye and feel but this one is sending me doolally!! lol

I'll persevere!!

The pics will be up soon Tom. It'll be finished knife and sheath together pics. I'm almost finished this one. It's just finding the time! I got the handle sorted. Just a case of patience, but it was starting to annoy me!
