Default Old style compass case for a modern version of a compass..

So, not made anything at all in ages apart from software.

I got a new GPS and I then found I was putting eCig batteries in my pocket forgetting it was there so I decided that it would be better just to make something rudimentary.

Photo's aren't great but here's the result..

This was a bugger to wet form, you wouldn't believe the trouble I had re-stretching it to form over and over and cutting out the bulges so I could tack it down..

Ended up colouring the sides and using acrylic dye inside of the two halves to stiffen them so they could be sanded. The stitching around the edges was actually done to stop the leather trying to relax back out of wet form shape when I applied the dye.

Not absolutely the neatest of jobs but it kept it's shape and I've taught myself a lot more about forming bulker shapes than knives.

One top tip I worked out was to use a flat elastic band on the shapes before I cut off the areas stapled down... you can visually level this up and then mark off the area you want to stitch or cut. Having to work that out was worth the effort on it's own

Oh, and I know my keyboard's filthy

That is really nice work, and a lot of work by the looks.
Worth it though

Yeah, I spilled a glass of wine over it ages ago and fritzed the USB connections.. I always thought I would buy another keyboard but it works just fine and I worry it will pack in completely if I wipe it with anything.

Man it is gnarly looking though
